Question #11: What do you have under your bed right now?
All kinds of framed items! First, there is a VERY large painting...it doesn't "go" with my decor but I can't part with it...it was painted by my father when he was young and attending the Cleveland Inst
itute of Art, and he gave it to my Grandmother as a gift. She hung it over the electric organ in her celery green living room (the same organ on which I taught myself to play simplified versions of Swan Lake and Dvorczak's New World Symphony), with a tall stylized red glass vase next to it.Then there are about 6 other framed certificates and awards. When I was first changing careers, buying a house, and otherwise learning to make it on my own, I read a tip that suggested putting items in a personal room that offered positive reinforcement. So, I framed various certificates and awards and hung them in the family room. After having them up for many years, they took effect. I finally removed them several months ago...they just feel a bit pretentious to me now. I didn't know what else to do with them, so I just piled them under the bed, along with the painting.

Aww, the painting is beautiful! How cool that your dad painted it. :)
Living in New York means that under bed space is valuable storage for me! I used to have my bed on risers and I kept suitcases and drawers with clothes underneath. Now that I've moved to a place with walk-in closets (it's a dream come true!), all we have underneath our bed is tons and TONS of broken down cardboard boxes.

My dad made his living as an artist, and this is one of his student painting, which he wasn't very fond of.
I'm envious of your walk-in closets...positively heavenly. Do you keep the boxes for when you move again?
That painting is so beautiful! Kind of a shame it's under the bed...:)
What is under my bed? Dust bunnies and probably a few long-forgotten toys. And a monster of course.

P.S. I forgot to say, I absolutely love the faux movie camera! Though you'll have to move it when you find your statuette. :)

I did have the painting hanging at one point, but the colors are just really not something I use in my house. Not sure what I'll do with it?

On the movie camera, can you believe Home Goods would have SUCH a perfect thing just sitting there waiting for me to find it?!!
